Ingredients

  • 500 g ground meat (beef, pork, veal, or mix)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup beef broth

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground meat, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, paprika and fresh parsley until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into a meatloaf and place in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Arrange the carrot slices and diced potatoes around the meatloaf.
  4. Pour the beef broth over the meatloaf and vegetables.
  5. Cover and cook over low heat for about 4 hours, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
  6. Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve the meatloaf hot, accompanied by simmered vegetables and a sauce of your choice.
