
Mini Smash Burgers with Melty Cheese
Instructions
Prepare the patties
Divide the ground beef into 12 small patties, season with salt and pepper.
Don't press too hard, or they'll be too dense.
Cook the smash burgers
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Smash each patty with a spatula until thin. Cook for 2 minutes on each side.
Use a heavy spatula for better smashing.
Add the cheese
Place half a slice of cheddar on each hot patty. Cover to melt the cheese.
Cheese melts faster if you cover the skillet.
Assemble the mini burgers
Place each patty on the bottom of a mini bun, add onion slices, pickle, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the bun.
Lightly toast the buns beforehand for extra flavor.
