Maple General Tao Chicken Wings
Instructions
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, and garlic. Add the chicken wings and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
For even richer flavor, marinate overnight.
Cook the Wings
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Arrange the wings on a parchment-lined baking sheet and drizzle with oil. Bake for 25 minutes, turning halfway through.
For extra crispiness, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end.
Make the Sauce
In a saucepan, combine all the sauce ingredients except the cornstarch. Bring to a boil, then stir in the diluted cornstarch until thickened.
Add chili flakes for a bit of heat!
Coat the Wings
Dip the cooked wings in the sauce to coat well. Serve hot.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for a perfect finish.
