Let yourself be transported by the aromas and flavors of Italy with our homemade fettucini, perfect for a family dinner or an evening out with friends.

    Step 1

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettucini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve one cup of pasta cooking water.

    Step 2

Meanwhile, in a large frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about a minute, taking care not to brown it.

    Step 3

Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir the heavy cream into the pan with the garlic and butter. Simmer gently for a few minutes, until the cream begins to thicken slightly.

    Step 4

Add the grated Parmesan to the cream and stir well until it has completely melted and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce seems too thick, add a little pasta cooking water to soften it.

    Step 5

Season the sauce with salt and ground black pepper to taste.

    Step 6

Add the cooked fettucini to the sauce in the pan and toss gently until well coated.

Serve the fettucini immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired. You can also sprinkle a little more grated Parmesan over the top if you like.
