German pancake recipe: Pfannkuchen

Today, I'd like to share with you a recipe I made with my children for an exceptional brunch. Looking to diversify our meals and get away from our usual routine, I discovered a recipe for German pancakes that really won the whole family over. This preparation is a clever mix between a pancake and a cake, which you can decorate as you wish with fruit, whipped cream, chocolate and many other delights.



    Step 1

    In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, vanilla and salt.

    Step 2

    Add the eggs to the dry mixture and start mixing until smooth.

    Step 3

    Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Continue mixing until you obtain a smooth paste.

    Step 4

    Let the batter rest for about 30 minutes at room temperature. This allows the ingredients to mix well, resulting in lighter pancakes.

    Step 5

    Pour a small ladleful of batter into the hot pan and tilt the pan to distribute the batter evenly in a cast-iron skillet.

    Step 6

    Bake at 450°C for 15 minutes
