Here is my homemade bread recipe.
As a chef, I use very little of theès rarely tools to measure the quantitiesés. I use a scale instead, which cuts down on dishwashing time a bit.
Ingredients
Basic homemade bread
Directions
Heat the milk in the microwave for about 1 minute. The temperature should be between 95℉ and 105℉ to activate the yeast. Add the yeast to the milk and stir to dissolve. Let stand for 10 minutes. There should be a little foam on top and bubbles. If there are none, the yeast is no longer good.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, add the flour, honey and salt. When the yeast is activated, add the milk mixture and melted butter to the flour bowl.
Mix with your hands to incorporate all the flour. This will form a sticky ball. Cover with plastic wrap and let stand for 20 minutes.
After resting, put the dough on the counter and knead for 10 minutes. After kneading, the dough should be smooth and not sticky. Grease a bowl and place the dough in it. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 60 minutes. It will double.
Grease two loaf pans. Punch the dough and separate into two equal pieces. Crush the dough into a rectangle and roll out to fill the molds.
Place the molds in the oven with the light open. Cover the molds with a damp cloth. Set the oven timer for 60 minutes. After that time, remove from oven and preheat to 375℉.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. When removed from the oven, remove the loaves from the pans and let them cool on a rack. Do not cut until they have rested for 1 hour.
